Where's Winter?

Hello Readers

Rainy and well above zero today. Certainly the exact opposite to what is happening in the western half of the country.

Past Thursday thru Sat were beautiful days. Took advantage of the unseasonal weather and had a nice walk in Algonquin Park on Friday. See my attached photo of Peck lake around mid-day. Note it still had a skim of ice all the way across despite the warm sunny day. A great time of the year in the park actually, as it is not crowded and you virtually have the trails to yourself. May go back again this week if I get the chance and the weather cooperates.

Till next time

Mid November Happenings

Hello Blog Readers

The raking is done! And I must say the place looks very neat and tidy.

Going down to -10c tonight, but it looks like we are in for some sunny, warmer weather for the rest of the week. It will give me an opportunity to get a few more things done before everything starts freezing up.

I just updated the vacancy calendar and there is another prized spot available in July if you are interested.

Still nights available in cottage 1 and 10 during the Christmas/New Year break.

Huntsvilles Santa Clause Parade is on this Friday evening. Last year it was cold and snowy (as you should have for a Santa Clause Parade!). This year it looks like it may be a bit warmer.

The water level in Clear lake is up, due to the heavy rains and some busy beavers at the northern end.

November Update from the "Woods"

Hello Blog Readers

Been busy with pre-winter chores and working around the bizzare weather. We have had 3 significant snow falls this fall already although today is 10c and drizzling. Just waiting for the rain to stop and then I can get on with completing the raking.

Everything is pretty well in order for winter's arrival. The last big job is raking up the leaves in front of cottages 3 through 6, plus the hill in front of #7 and the campground.

All the chairs and BBQ's are away now, tables proppped up against the trees, rooves of all the cottages and house cleaned off, gutters cleared, watercraft on shore, bits and pieces stored under cottages or in the basement of the house, shed and carport tidied up, storm windows installed on cottages 1 & 10 and the snowblowers ready for action.

We have guests booking for the Christmas/New Year period, but still openings, so if you would like a winter holiday, give us a call. Remember, cottages #1 and #10 are both winterised and available year round.

Brad Booker, our next door neighbour, has organised a new "winter sign" for all the Clear Lake Resorts, so we'll be easy to find this year if you are travelling across Clear Lake!
