Hello Blog Readers
Tomorrow is the first day of fall and things are definitely "fall-like". We are having some cool nights but the days are still warming up. Have had guests in Cottage 4 all week who have had a great time golfing, sight seeing and just enjoying the peace and tranquility.
Orange, red, crimson, yellow, green, brown....the display is underway. The loons have taken back rightful ownership of Clear Lake and two of them have been quite happily swimming right in front of our place. This morning the lake is like glass, there is a slight mist coming off the water as the temperature creeps up above 1c and I can see the wood smoke curling out of the chimmney of Cottage 4.
I was reading my Blog from last October and noted we had some fine weather around the 1st and I was even swimming! Hope the same thing happens this year. I did have a swim last Sunday, but have not been in this week.
Tonight 7 cottages fill up. We still have 2 bedrooms available for next weekend (the 3 bedrooms are gone sorry) and of course Thanksgiving is now full.
Till next time
John

September Update
A lovely day today here at Clear Lake.
We've been having some cool nights (near 0!!) but rewarded with sunny clear days. Two of our cottages are occupied at the moment by guests who are spending a week with us. Today they were kayaking, playing horsehoes, reading, off to Dorset.... just enjoying the splendid Fall weather and the peace & quiet.
I spent the day repairing Muskoka chairs, chopping wood, tidying up the beach, dealing with the recycling and changing a flat on our old dependable trailer. Also took our 3 yr old to Kearney to the candy store.
The leaves are changing now, ahead of schedule I would say, so if you want to enjoy some fall colours, come on up. Thanksgiving is almost booked (1 cottage left), but we still have plenty of vacancies throughout September. I updated our availability calendar tonight and it now shows what we have vacant for September and early October.

September! It can't be
Where did July and August go? Just the other day we were panicing about having everything ready for the 9 weeks of weekly guests and now it is over.
But the summer type weather is still here, although slightly cooler and yes, the leaves are already changing up this way and some are even on the ground.
That said, I had a swim tonight after a hard days work (cutting, raking, chopping, carting, patching...) getting ready for another full house this weekend. Also had a lovely boat ride tonite with Lucy after dinner. Lake like glass, no other boats (well just 2 I think) and a beautiful setting sun.
Thanksgiving is almost booked out, one cottage left, but we still have lots of spaces between now and then.
As far as Summer 2007 goes, contact us now if you want to secure a spot or wait until Jan/Feb. At this point we are approx 85% booked so we do ahve some spots open, mostly in August, but there are a few prized weeks in July with an opening or two as well.
