Hello Readers
We awoke to a small skiff of snow this morning. A taste of what is around the corner.
I am probably slightly ahead of schedule this year with winterising. The water is now off and only cottages 1 & 10, the winterised ones, are still open. All the watercraft are away other then 1 boat and motor (I always like to have one more tour around) and the canoe. Raking is also well and truly underway.
Our vacancy calendar is up to date, so if you are looking for a winter break, take a look and give us a call. I understand that the yurts in Algonquin are already booked out for winter weekends, so if that was your intention, perhaps a stay in one of our cottages is a possibility. We are very close to Arrowhead and all that it offers in winter, which includes: cross country skiing (30 km of trails), snowshoeing, skating, hiking & tubing/tobogganing. Algonquin's West Gate is only 40 minutes away and of course we are only 20 minutes from Hidden Valley for downhill skiing and snowboarding.
Summer 2010 vacancies are also posted and I promise to get the rates out as soon as possible. Those of you who have already booked can look forward to your letters of confirmation and deposit request in January as usual, with deposits due by the end of January.
Till next time
John

Thanksgiving Update
Hello Readers
Just a quick update on vacancies for this coming Holiday weekend. We still have 4 cottages left, including #9 & #10 (2 bedroom/4 people), which are both propane heated and nice and cozy if the weekend ends up being cool and 2-2 bedroom lakefront cottages #4 & #6, both with woodstoves. All cottages sleep 4, although we will allow up to 5 (say 2 adults and 3 children) in 4 & 9.
Our guests this weekend all visited Algonquin Park and found the colours fantastic.
If you are thinking about the weekend after Thanksgiving, I am going to watch the weather and hopefully we will still have all 10 cottages open, so give us a call if that is of interest. Who knows, we still may have some colour around as even though Algonquin Park is now at its peak, the colours around here in Muskoka have not peaked as of yet.
The weekend of the 17/18 will definitely be our last weekend and I will shut the cottages down for the season after that.
Guests that were here during this past summer have just sent me some great photos from their stay, including this one of 2 moose they saw in Algonquin Park.
Till next time
John
