Seasons Greetings from the Woods

Hello Readers

I must apologise for the lack of blogging over the past while, but here I am back again with an update.

First of all we would like to wish all our guests & friends a Merry Christmas and Happy Hew Year. We hope that however you celebrate the festive season it is enjoyable and finds you, your family and friends in good health.

We have some sad news to report, in that my Dad, Bill Alguire, passed away at noon on December 9 after a lengthy bout with cancer. Some of you may have noticed I disappeared for a few days during your stay this past spring, summer or fall and it was to visit him in Waterloo. He is greatly missed by us all, including 14 grandchildren whom, he loved dearly.

On a happier note, winter is truly in place up this was and has been for sometime. I now have a small skating rink down on the lake, Hidden Valley is open for snowboarding and skiing and Arrowhead is open as well. Harriet in fact just finished a 3 day ski camp at Hidden Valley and enjoyed it immensely. Lucy has already had one ski racing practice with the high school race team and is going to be helping out at the hill as a teachers assistant next week. Louise had her first snowboard lesson a few days ago, and although enjoyable, said it was the hardest thing she has ever done! I am scheduled for my first ski patrol Boxing Day.

We still have some openings for these holidays, including both winterised cottages for a New Years stay. So if you are still looking for somewhere to spend a few days during this break, give us a call. Both cottages are available from the 29th Dec onwards.

For those guests who have already booked a cottage for next summer, letters confirming your reservation and requesting a deposit will go out in January as usual and deposits must be paid before the end of January to secure your booking.

So, once again, Seasons Greetings to all...

Till next time

John
