Hello Readers, Regular and New
Thought I should update you on happenings before October goes. Hard to believe that Nov begins tomorrow!
This weekend is our first weekend since late May that we have had off, so although we would welcome the arrival of guests this evening, we are going to enjoy having a Saturday and Sunday to ourselves.
My "winterising" of the place is progressing, although probably about a week behind other years due to a later Thanksgiving and some odd weather. I actually had a swim on Thanksgiving Monday! Then a week later we had snow and 6 below!
Thanksgiving this year was magnicificent weather wise and our guests enjoyed lovely warm days, no rain and even the nights were not that cool.
The water is now turned off, pump house empty, all the cottages drained, raking is more then half finished (the biggest job here at the Woods) boats all put away, boat motors in the basement, picnic tables leaning against trees, most of the chairs away, sports equipment stored and the ping pong shelter safely away in the shed.
Have not had a usual visit from the deer this year, although Bookers next door had a moose come up out of the water onto their beach and up through their property. Our bear who paid us a visit several times during the summer has not returned which is a good thing.
Well I had better run and take advantage of the blue skies and above seasonal temps and start raking, and raking and raking....
Happy, safe Hallowen and enjoy your trick or treating.
Till next time
John

Happy Thanksgiving
Hello Readers
I am staring out our top floor window at a mirror perfect lake surrounded by hues of yellow, orange, red, purple, brown, green.... you get the idea. Colours are excellent at the moment and the weather for this coming weekend is looking like it will match or better a summer stay.
Had some rain yesterday to freshen everything up and now we are in for days of sunshine and above seasonal temperatures (at least according to Enviro Canada).
We still have 2 cottages left, #6, 2 bedroom lakefront and #8, 3 bedroom with good views over the resort and out to the lake.
Ideally we would like a 3 night stay, check-in Friday afternoon/evening, check-out Monday however as it is last minute we will consider a 2 night option. So give us a call if you are interested.
Things are going well at the Bookcase, our new venture in dowtown Huntsville. For those of you who did not know, we took over the Bookcase in early September.
Better run and bail out the boats after yesterdays rain.
Till next time
