Holiday Greetings from the Woods

Hello Readers

Yes, it has been a while and for those of you who are regular readers I apologise.

We have snow, and boy do I mean snow, but I guess so does a majority of Ontario.

I have shovelled off the rooves of cottages 7 and 8, plus the house already this December and winter hasn't even officially started yet!

Skiing has been underway at Hidden Valley now for 2 weeks and will fully open this coming weekend.

I have almost fully qualified as a ski patrol with the Muskoka Zone of the Canadian Skip Patrol. Still need to complete the training for the toboggan, which hopefully will happen in January, however I have my first official first patrol day on Boxing day.

Last time I wrote I guess I was still raking. Well I completed the job with about a day to spare before the first snow hit, plus put each "cottage to bed". Since then it has been shovelling, shovelling, shovelling....

Louise has been busy in her store the Gypsy Queen and I have also been doing a few days here and there in the shop as well. It has been well received and people are very supportive of the idea of Fair Trade.

Kids are fine and looking forward to the holidays. They have been tobogganing down our hill for weeks now, plus have built a couple of "snow houses" around the place.

Those of you booked for summer 08, you can once again look for your letters confirming your booking (cottage and week) in January and the request for the deposit. If you already know that you would like to change your booking in anyway, please let us know as soon as possible.

If I do not get a chance to blog again before 25 December, all the best to everyone and Seasons Greetings from John, Louise, Lucy and Harriet up here at the Woods.

Till next time

John
