Pre-Summer News

Hello Blog Readers

Hard to believe but in just two days summer will be officially here, although it feels like we have been having summer up here for weeks now. The lake is warm, days have been hot and even the bugs have dropped right off.

We had another enjoyable Muskoka Tri weekend and we would like to say a big thankyou to all our guests who stayed with us. One family has stayed on for the whole week and is enjoying the peace and tranquility of Clear Lake and Algonquin Woods right through until Friday.

We are almost ready for the start of the busy summer season, just finishing off a few chores.

To those of you who read my blogs, I mentioned we had purchased an inflatable slide. Unfortunately, it didn't make it past the test of "family and friends use" and a seam split on Sunday resulting in a pretty limp looking slide floating on the lake. We have returned it to the store and have decided it would not be robust enough for a solid 9 weeks of Algonquin Woods use. Lucy is very dissapointed, and we know our summer guests would have loved it, but it just would not have made it until the end of August.

That said, there are still quite a few other new things in place for this summer including:
  • a new, much more heavy duty swing
  • new canopy over the ping pong table that gives more protection
  • another new sit in kayak and a
  • freshly painted shuffle board court

Till next time

June Update

Hello Readers

Been busy these last few days. Septic tanks all pumped out today (thought you would like to know that!), ready for another busy summer.

The old swing (I suspect it has been there for at least 15+ years, if not more) at the beach front is now gone. I knocked it down yesterday. Hopefully a new one will be up within the next few days. I have the end "A's" all assembled and the cross piece ready, I just need to redig/reposition the holes and then stand it up. Going to be quite a feat standing up 12 ft, 6"X6"'s (I don't want it to fall down) , so if anyone can give me a hand, let me know!

Planted a heap of flowers in pots, gardens and under the road sign as well.

Winter/fall like weather yesterday but tonight is warmer and it looks like a return to warmer weather tomorrow.

Still 3 spots left for the Tri, so give us a call.

Till next time

John
