We have our Lake Back!

Looking out from the top floor of our house and down through the pines I see the flat, calm, mirror like expanse of beautiful Clear Lake. I woke this morning to the loons calling and our local woodpecker hammering away.

The lake ice left us last Thursday morning. 7am in the morning and we were still looking at half our bay covered in ice. By midday nothing but water.

The last few days have been spectacular with temps in the 20's and sunny. Nights have been beautiful as well and Saturday night we had our first campfire of the season.

It has been great for working. The place is now raked (yes, the entire place!), dock fixed after the usual winter damage caused by the ice, the old golf cart going again, pumphouse cleaned out and ready for the pump and associated equipment and a good supply of wood split and ready by the firepit.

Hopefully this week I'll get the boats back in and other chores completed. I'll still wait a week or so before putting the water back on.
