Summer underway at the Woods

Summer is truly here, according to the calendar and the current weather conditions. A beautiful weekend up here, bugs all but gone (few annoying mosquitoes in the evening/early morning), mid 20's, light breeze and crystal clear Clear Lake at our doorstep.

Guests leaving today, more in tomorrow for 2 nights, then on Saturday our weekly bookings begin.

For those who wanted a spot this summer but were unable to get in (we are now booked up from July 1 until Aug 26), why not consider a week or a weekend with us in September. It is my favourite time of year, leaves starting to turn, cool nights for sleeping, no bugs, the lake is still warm enough for swimming and it's a great time for walking the trails of Algonquin and Arrowhead.

Well I am off to clean out gutters and a few more outdoor duties before it heats up too much.

New Toys

Hi Blog readers

Just though I'd update you on our new purchase this week. Now have 2 brand new Sit-on-top (SOT) kayaks for everyone to use. I'll have to get a photo. Good fun, easy to "drive" and very light weight. The older kids/teens will love them.

Getting ready for summer still contines. All the septic tanks were pumped out yesterday (I thought you would like to know that). Most of the outdoor painting is completed although we still want to try and get a few picnic tables "refreshed". Planting of seedlings in the various baskets, gardens and tubs is underway.

Campers in tonight for 2 nights, tomorrow we clean up all the cottages ready for the Triathlon weekend.

Hi Everyone

Fantastic weather these past few days. Swimming yesterday afternoon and I am happy to report the water temperature is just amazing as is the lake in general (as always!). Lucy was out on the Surf Bikes with a friend and having a ball.

Repaired the raft (new strap underneath, repositioned the ladder, extra anchor) and put it back out yesterday. Buoys are now back in as well.

Grass is growing and I keep cutting...

Bought 2 sets of brand new oars for both the rowboats...

Replacing some of the worn out coffee makers with brand new machines...

Cottage 7 now has a brand new bathroom sink, replaced the mirror, painted a wall and will repaint the floor before summer...

2 sets of guests in last weekend who had a lovely time and some returning guests are in this weekend to camp. Triathlon weekend, June 16/17 is full but we have plenty of vacancies for June 23/24, so if you want a break before the summer hits give us a call.

Only two spots left for summer now and 3 Labour Day Weekend openings.
