May Wind Up

Boy is it hot! Over 30c yesterday and very steamy at the moment. Had our first swim yesterday and the water was fantastic. Hard to imagine just over a week ago we had temps near zero, skiffs of snow and guests with gloves on down at the beach!

Our May long Weekend was a success, despite the winter like weather and our guests had a good time. At least there was no bugs!

Only 3 spots left for summer, so let us know if you are interested in a cottage. If you can't find the time for a summer vacation up our way, come on up in June and stay 2 nights or stay a week.

Update on Opening up for the season

Hi

Sorry for the lack of blogging the past few days/weeks but we have been very busy. We are booked out this coming weekend, so we have been frantically getting everything ready.

To summarise:

• water is now back on in all the cottages
• we have a new submersible pump in our well (so a now more reliable supply of water to our house, winterised cottages and our campground)
• the cottages have all been spring cleaned
• grass cutting is underway
• the dock is now fixed
• paddle boats and rowboats back in the water
• #7 now has a new bathroom sink
• #4 has new kitchen taps
• all the BBQ's have new lava rocks
• propane heaters serviced
• 3 cord of wood stacked in the wood shed
• furniture painted, cottage touchup painting scheduled for June

Tidying Up Continues

A few more jobs done this week. Touch-up painting of the railings, decks etc.. is underway (weather permitting). Finished repairing and repainting park benches, Muskoka chairs etc.. Raking of the odd spot still happening as well. Our last patch of snow, YES, we still had a patch of snow!, disappeared two days ago.

Planning on putting the water back on next week, again weather permitting.

May at Last

Hah, May is here and what a beautiful weekend we had. And today is going to be even nicer.

Raking is all complete now, the place being raked from the road all the way down to and including the beach. Picnic tables are back out, BBQ's outside, chairs in their spot, the place is starting to look very "summery" again. Hopefully I may get some painting done today.

Still just 4 spots left for July & August and one of the spots is now tentatively gone, so if you are a new guest or someone who has stayed with us in the past and are thinking of spending a week with us this summer, drop us a line or give us a call.
