Hello Blog Readers
Well, hard to believe but only a few days and Thanksgiving is here. Then one more week and I'll start putting 8 out of 10 cottages to bed for the winter.
We are fully booked for this coming weekend (Thanksgiving) and it looks like we are in for some spectacular weather and about time I must say! This Fall has not been the greatest weather wise.
For those unaware, we were hit by a horrific wind storm/hurricane/tornado on Sunday September 24th. We had been lucky all summer, escaping damage from the 3 devastating storms in July and August. However this time we got hit a little bit harder then normal. We had no power for nearly 4 days, 3 trees came down blocking the driveway and roadway down to the cottages, the powerline that runs from cottage 8 to 9 was brought down and a tree fell on cottage#10, damaging the deck, BBQ, picnic table and taking the whirly bird off the roof. We were in fact very lucky the damage was not more severe and of course very fortunate no one was injured as we had 8 out of 10 cottages full at the time.
Anyway, things are all but back to normal and we are almost ready for our Thanksgiving guests.
Those of you who were unable to make it up for Thanksgiving and would like to have a few days away before Fall gives way to winter, give us a call. We still have plenty of cottages left for the weekend after Thanksgiving.
Till next time
John
